These are always a fun time waster before the season actually starts.
DH - Donahue 2B - Madrigal 3B - Gretler 1B - Harrison LF - Nobach SS - Grenier CF - Cary RF - Larnach C - Rutschman/Taylor
I have to think about my idea of a rotation a bit more. That looks like it could be a very good offense though. I'd like to see Grenier come around and KJ stop trying to hit HR's. Cary, Larnach and the catching situation are a relative unknown. Lots of potential, hope they can play up to it.
Then there are all the newcomers and guys I know very little about. Willy looks to have natural power and Gambrell looks like a really good young pitcher. Not a huge K/9 stat for high school, but a good ERA.

As a huge Beaver BBall Fan I sure wish there was more info on how Training and how the kids are doing. Not much information. I have heard in BB Circles that Rutschman might be one the most talented kids coming out of Oregon, ever! Have heard the Larnach is +++ with the Bat. Everyone knows you don't throw KJ a FB. Of course that is just all talk.

Casey does indeed like to flex line-ups a bit from game to game - so I hope that either of the above two will be used at various times.
It would be great if Rutschman does establish himself at C. Always important to add at least one true freshman as a cog in the wheel. The second line-up (immediately above) doesn't use Gretler, who had a much improved year (2016) at the plate. So that's a downside. Also, the second one (above) does not take advantage of Grenier's insane range and athleticism that is ideal for SS.
At any rate, 2017 should be a delicious year to be a Beaver BB fan. Our line-up/roster depth will serve us well in the event (inevitable) of injuries.

Starters (not in any particular order with last known BA): C - Rutschman; .427 last summer IF - Donahue; .339 last year IF - Madrigal; .333 last year IF - Gretler; .339 last year IF - Grenier; .240 last year OF - Cary; .258 in 2015 OF - Nobach; .280 last year OF - Preston Jones; .538 last year (HS) DH/IF/C - KJ; .265
The real question is who are the weekend starters? Got a lot of arms back...

Got a lot of arms back... If you're gonna use ONE number to show a kid's hitting ability, let's at least use OPS. KJ's .265 was a LOT more valuable than Nobach's .280, and by OPS, better than anyone on that list who played at OSU last year.

So my opinion, Madrigal has similar range to grenier. But Madrigal has a much quicker release and turns the DP better. But my opinion is just simply that

I caught the tail end of Joe Beaver show the other day in the car and they had mentioned that PC was on earlier and had given an update on Rasmussen. Can anyone elaborate?
