per www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/rankings#8 Washington #10 OSU #13 Stanford #17 UCLA #19 Arizona #24 Cal. I'm wagering that more than one pollster on the east coast filled out their ballot before the results from the Bay Area were in.

What is the magic with UW ? They haven't played Stanford yet. No chance they win that one.

Some home cooking or blatant bias. And, as suggested, did not compute on our Stanford away game victory.

Explain this to me please; How does UW get ranked higher when we beat them (oh and were kicking their @$$ for most of the game) and we have a better record then them? I don't understand this. I suppose if we beat UCLA on Friday and USC UW will still be ranked higher than us? It doesn't make any sense at all!!
Go Beavs!!

All these outliers are Eastern Time Zone. The participants don't have a specific cut-off time, and obviously they filled out their ballots before the Stanford result was in.
And it's hardly unreasonable to put UW ahead of us. We beat them AT HOME by 3. Most folks would call that a draw, at best. We lost to unranked Marquette AT HOME and before this weekend our only result against a ranked team was the win over UW. UW's only other loss was AT Notre Dame (by 11), and has a victory over then-ranked Missouri. That, and on paper they have a more impressive roster, with a player-of-the-year candidate in Kelsey Plum and the nation's leading rebounder, Chantel Osahor (who also had the first triple-double in UW history). The problem here is not that UW is overrated - it's that the whole Pac is underrated.

This is why I wish the Beavs would of held on to that 27 point lead!
Go Beavs!

Really not a big deal. Too early in the season to worry about polls. Lots of chances remaining... every weekend will have at least one biggie. Take care of biz and all the poll crap takes care of itself.

What is the magic with UW ? They haven't played Stanford yet. No chance they win that one. I expect the dawgs to win in Seattle as they do not play at Maples this year.
As for what is up with some of the pollsters: They're Plum Crazy is all.
