Maybe its the program's winning culture. Or perhaps the team's commitment to playing team defense as a unit of five players. Whatever it is, it is working and continues to provide us with much to admire about a team that never quits and seems to love playing both with and for each other.
Watching the Beavers' two road wins in the Bay Area this past weekend was like watching two episodes of my favorite television series within a 48-hour span. Great drama, unselfish play, and plenty of kudos to go around for a team that finds ways to wear down, outrebound, and eventually put away its opponents.
A total of nine players this season on the Beavers have scored 12 or more points in a game. All 12 players have made contributions during game action and continue to do so every night in a variety of ways. Just watch the players on the Beavers' bench rise and cheer whenever something good happens on the court. It does appear to be a tight-knit sisterhood in which winning as team is the ultimate goal.
The journey that this squad is on is a special one. Don't know how it will turn out, but I really look forward to continue my binge watching. I certainly know where I will be this Friday at 6 pm when the Beavers take on UCLA at Pauley Pavilion in yet another road game that the PAC-12 Network will be televising live.
Go Beavs!!!

Agree - very special journey this team is on.....
I am so glad I recorded the Stanford game - it is one I will go back to and enjoy re-watching (my favorite game from last season was the Pac-12 tourney UCLA game, incidentally).
Some times I replay a play just to watch the bench reaction - the emotion there is incredibly authentic......goes back to something Coach SR said at his initial press conference about the culture that he was going to put in place: "you might not like each other, but you will love each other". Cool to see things like that in this day and age.
Go Beavs!

As I've recently concluded: following WBB and (Men's) Baseball may be all that's needed to enjoy being a Beav sports fan. Not a small part of the reason for that is the continuity built into those two sports. WBB, 4 or 5 star recruit, and yet we get to enjoy them for 4 full seasons. Case in point: Sidney Wiese...and yet to come - Mikayla Pivec. Baseball, once they begin as a freshman, we get to see/enjoy them for at least 3, and maybe 4 seasons - KJ Harrison/Madrigal...Andrew Moore - Ellsbury -and countless others. Problem with FB and men's basketball: if you do happen to get an outstanding talent on a Beaver squad in those sports...they might be gone before you get a chance to fully appreciate them.
