I've followed on TV as much as possible since SR took over, and now, after cheering for these ladies from afar, I am finally going to a game. I bit of a drive (3 hrs), but these gals deserve asses in the seats for their gritty and inspiring play. So, I just purchased tickets to two of the home games coming up.
This team is truly representative of the attributes we at Beaver Nation are so proud of...Tough, relentless and bring 100% effort on every play.
As has been echoed on the board many times, Scott Rueck is a hall of fame coach and he has earned each and every accolade.
Go you Beavers!!!

Yes, yes, and yes!! I just hope that the powers that be at OSU pay Rueck what he is worth and owed because at this point there are many very high profile programs that would be willing to pay him quite handsomely to take over their program if they were to lose there coach for any reason at all. Keep him at home and pay him what it takes to keep this program going!!
Go Bears!!

You know, Mr. Scott did something similar to this year when he was at George Fox. As I understand it, and I have never followed GF women's bball, the year after he won the NC at George Fox, he either made it all the way back to the NC game or back to the semis with a squad OF ALL FRESHMAN!!! Hall of Fame coach, ABSOLUTELY!!

FYI: The Oregonian reports that SR's base salary is $515k.
For comparison,
From UO Kelly Graves $525k Dana Altman, $450k
From OSU Wayne Tinkle, $578k Pat Casey $800k
For Tinkle and Altman, the base salary is only a small portion of their actual compensation. For the others, it represents the bulk of their pay.
I found some salary numbers for SEC and Big-12, and SR's salary would put him near the top of the Big-12 and in the middle of the pack in the SEC. Where exactly he sits is hard to guess, since we don't know all the incentives and side deals for all the coaches. But it's fair to say that he's probably in the Top 30, but not in the Top 10 nationally.
Five years ago it would have been one of the top salaries in the country - Tara Vanderveer only made $170k (base) in 2011!

I read that Rueck made > $100K in incentives last year from winning conf. reg season, conf tournament and advancing to final 4.

And that $100k would have been on his previous contract. I'm sure if we made it back to the Final Four the bonus would be larger.

While Stanford as a private school doesn't publicize their coaches salaries, they have gone on record that they pay their men's and women's basketball coaches the same. So whatever Jerrod Hasse is making, Tara is making. And vice versa.
