Someone told me this morning that we only have 50 players currently on scholly, I thought we were full until next year when we lose 13 seniors and probably a number of others that would transfer, etc..? Is that correct?? Said he read it on Oregonlive? I think it's hogwash, but what do I Know

That would be ridiculous. Look at the roster.
We have about 16 or 17 OL on schollie alone. 10 LB, 15 or so DBs... 13 or so DL. That's 50-55 right there.
From last week:
When Andersen took over the program, there was a roster imbalance, with 46 scholarship players on offense and only 37 on defense. Those numbers are now 43 and 40, "right where we need to be," he says.

Probably in the high 70's to low 80's? Guyton is gone so that's 1 down but that's about it. Probably 82-84 without really looking at it.

Is that correct?? Said he read it on Oregonlive? I think it's hogwash, but what do I Know Yeah. total hogwash. GA signed 22 last year, a few took some missions. this left him with, if memory serves, 3 available scholarships he was largely keen on banking for this season due to only graduating 13 seniors. I know he awarded one to Naji Patrick in fall camp. Kansas doesn't even have that few, and they were making national news about how few players they had after the Charlie Weis fiasco. Kansas has/had around 75 going into this year. Even losing Gutyon and Del Rio and Mullaney transferring we have no fewer than 80 and it is probably more like 82. I think our current class is at 21 or 22 with our recent JC commits. We are still going to be counting on A. a mormon mission or two B. attrition and C. greyshirts likely to make the math count.

Adam Jude from the Seattle Times originally reported that the Beaver had just 50 scholarship players available Saturday. it was in error. story has sense been corrected. That said, with our injuries that wouldn't surprise me to see that is how many available players we had... but we have more on the roster.

OSU's media guide also said only 50 scholarship players available to play. 15 Redshirts, rest were injured/sick/Guyton'ed
