Beavs never trail. Lead wire to wire.
Great job by Syd w 26 points. Plum held to 22.
Great game by Kolbie. 12 points, 7 rebounds.
And tremendous rebounding effort by Pivec (6) and Gabby (8) combining for 14 rebounds from the 2 guard spot. A nice game rebounding overall for OSU outboarding UW 45/31.

Boy, sure would of liked to see the Lady Beavs keep the huge lead. Pollsters that didn't see game will think game was closer than it really was. I was hoping to see them finish the game with a 25+ point victory. Look what I've become as a Lady Beav fan!! Great win, just so awesome to see Gabby shut down Plum and the superior team and program rise to the top!! Really nice to see Orum and Brown show off some offensive moves. We are deep!
Go Beavs!!

I don't disagree but it's hard to quibble with the W. The early start means that more of the pollsters may have seen the whole game. Most importantly the pollsters will take note that #15 beat #9. For the team at this stage in their development I'm kind of glad that UW kept fighting and didn't let OSU coast home. It'll only make them tougher.

'hangs on' . Always hated that phrase. Implies quiet uo-like that if there was more time, the outcome would have been different We got a big lead on a really good team. Good teams don't give up and you know they will make a run. Human nature when up big to 'relax a bit'.. Both happened.. We made the plays when we needed to and won. I hate to quibble and not sure how UO fits that phrase, as there are numerous examples of fast starts/ slow finishes vs big finishes that fall short... don't see it as an automatic "excuse" unless truly used in a disrespectful way toward your opponents. But, it truly fits here. We were gassed. We made some very tired plays the last 3 minutes. And instead of putting the game away with 11-13 point leads we allowed then to come back. Syd, Gulich, Hansen, and Pivec were on their last legs after the game. They played their hearts out. It was a great win, but we needed every bit of a 53-28 lead to "hang on". There was no doubt in the minds of every person in our little section 3-5 more minutes would have been a different outcome. We are not that deep with girls that can play significant minutes and big roles at this point. We truly got handled in the 4th and that doesn't happen to a SR team much. So, as much as the phrase may be "tired" it's very appropriate in many athletic situations including this game... and describing as such doesn't diminish the efforts or the W... IMHO.

Definitely felt as if the officials were watching two separate games in the way they called things in the two halves. The stats showed as much: 6 combined first half fouls, 27 second half fouls. UW relies on creating contact and getting to the stripe. They weren't being bailed out in the first half, but man did that change.

Well, sounds like you and your section don't think UW lost, they just ran out of time. I'm glad the game has a defined period of time for competition that is established before tipoff. Our team and talent helped get us to the lead. UW has players...2 VERY good players. One thing I always liked to bag on the ucks about is when they would say something to the effect "we just ran out of time". No, you lost. Love the beat down today and never really felt like the dogs were back in it. If the game was 3-5 minutes longer, I think the Lady Beavs would have continued to score until there were the prescribed 2-3 mnutes left in the game. Then let clock beome their friend again. I also hope the team learns to close stronger going forward.

It's pretty clear by every measurable we were getting out played... 48-29 2nd half... no FGs for 6+ min stretch... outscored 9-2 last 90 sec. Believe whatever scenario you'd like, but we weren't continuing to score. And from the mouths of the players themselves they were "completely spent". Again... we won... and hanging on to a victory is not a shameful thing! Not sure why that's so difficult to understand. Lol

The best thing (in addition to the W) is that there is no return trip to Seattle, this year. Except for the P12 tournament. Us Seattle area fans would have loved to see the Beavs beat the Huskies up here. I guess we'll have to wait for the tourney.

Just take it and say "thank you"
