We could very possibly lose our next 4 games in a row. Udub, at Cal, at Furd, at ucla. Yikes!
Keeping my fingers crossed though.

Who gets the responsibility of "containing" Plum? Committee? She likes to drive to the hoop. Good first step. Make her shoot from the outside. Good luck, ladies.

I think this is where we see the true defensive talents of Gabby Hanson - she has been about the only person in the Pac-12 that has held Plum in check - assuming Plum wasn't just having a horrible outing on her own last game....... I think she is still going to go for 20+, just don't want her going off for 40+..... Go Beavs!

The Pac12 is a gauntlet and winning on the road is a huge plus. Our game notes have had this "interesting" factoid listed for a while now: Oregon State has not lost back-to-back games since it fell to USC and UCLA on Jan. 17 and 20 of 2014. I have always wondered about this stat (statisticians will tell you "correlation does not imply causation")......is this an indicator of quality of our team and ability to recover from a loss? Is it coaching? Is it the fact that every road trip has had a strong/weak team combo? I guess we will find out...... I will happily take 2-2. This is not the juggernaut team of last year that we will probably talk about for years to come. (Though I think the 2017-2018 team could be something special with Grymek in the middle and Brown/Gulich at forward, and Corosdale is ranked about where Pivec was.........but I am getting ahead of myself). Go Beavs!

Looks like the PAC 12 is getting stronger up and down the Conference. Going to be difficult to sustain any leadership. Let's predict who we think will win it this year. I am going to go with CAL.

Go Beavs! I've enjoyed watching this team this year. Losing Ruth, Deven and Jamie left a big void but the players stepping into the breach - Marie, Bre/Kolbie and Katie/Mikayla/Kat - bring some special capabilities of their own and I think Rueck is enjoying coaching them up. And to my eyes, the leadership shown by Syd has been impressive. She hasn't tried to take over games but she's almost like a Rueck on the floor - knowing his scheme backwards and forwards and orchestrating the action. I think both Bre and Mikayla have a lot of untapped potential. It's scary to think how good Mikayla could be by the time she's a senior. Katie as well but I think the competition and push from Mik will up her game too. P.S. I've been pleasantly surprised by Madison Washington's abilities so far. It seems that Scott already has a level of confidence with her given the situations she's been put in as a true Freshman.
