She's dominating against WSU's bigs.
Syd scoreless at halftime. At 27 thru 3 qtrs... 14 are mid-range, she's on fire, was 10-13 at one time overall... only 3 hoops inside from the set offense right now. She's not getting much help inside from Orum and Brown. Sydney has about twice as many to's as her 3 pts. They are really running a lot of different players at her. But handled the pressure getting the lead cut to 1... weird game great D in 2nd and 4th but almost gave up 30 pt qtr in 3rd...then get off a 28-7 run. Solid win in trap game situation. |

I really think this is set up game planning for the UW contest. All of a sudden Gulich is a big scoring and rebounding threat and thus the Huskies are not going to have to guard our three ballers. Nice message to send by coach Rueck.
There were many turnovers from trying to force the ball into Marie. If the Beavs were in a tighter game and really needed the scoring, I think you would have seen a lot more outside scoring. The Cougs did play some tight defense though, especially on Sydney and Mikayla and Kate.

Osahor a beast and smart... she is at 15pts/14 reb... shoots 49% / 37% with 20 made threes / 77% ft and 4.6 assists... We need other bigs to step up. In the past Plum has gotten hers but we've shut down the others... we can't let this game get into the 80s+. It will be a fun game to watch. |
