Only 2 (TWO) players from last year's Dam City Classic played last night.
Last year Last night
Drew Eubanks 15 minutes, 20 minutes 38 minutes Stephen thompson Jr 26 minutes, 12 minutes 40 minutes Tres Tinkle 26 minutes, 19 minutes Injured Cheikh N'Diaye 5 minutes, 11 minutes Injured Matt Dahlen 1 minute, 0 minutes 19 minutes
No offense, but some of you have the patience of a 6 year old boy on Christmas morning. I assume you don't just drink the jello as a liquid but wait until it gels in the refrigerator.
I am not happy with the won-loss record, but come on, give the coaches some time. I assume Tinkle's and Thompson Jrs' fathers are aware of what needs to happen, as are the other coaches.
Practice for this team began only 76 days ago, and with days off and games played, they have had just over 40 days together, some much less.
Bad habits replaced by good habits take some time. If you disagree take one or two golf lessons and go out and play your best ever round this summer.

I still believe in Tinkle and Company, but last night at the Moda Center was an absolute embarrassment! 6 minutes of play and only 1 bucket? They are making so many boneheaded lazy turnovers, out positioned and outhustled on rebounds, and unable to finish on too many makeable shots against truly inferior competition! There is a Team chemistry issue going on that has to be solved! I am ready to back to the Moda Center on Sunday, but may have to wear a bag over my head!

Show this team you are behind them while they work through things.

This season is already reduced to pride, but no reason to give up on the coaching staff. The departures of Duvivier and Bruce left us sorely lacking in the number of ball handlers available, and losing our best player for at least a month has taken a big chunk of our offense away.
Portland will be a problem as their PG, Wintering, is pretty damn solid and there other starting guard has been a nice addition. They have some bigs with decent size, but Eubanks should have a big day.

This team is improving, at it's own pace.

This team is improving, at it's own pace. I'd hope so, but thought the same vs. a weaker LBSU team. UP has wins vs basically "no one" of any substance, but can score... and who can't vs our D. After watching us in every game and for every tiny step forward there is two bigger steps back. Several 7 pt leads with the ball under 7 min mark Friday and we lose to a team who lost 9 of its last 10. We gained offensive rhythm in the 1st half when WT went to (2) bigs with Kone and Drew. But, Kone was on the bench until lead and any momentum was gone and then entered him with about 2 min left. Not in favor of the "fire WT" posts, but we're struggling so bad even the coaching staff is at a loss and looks to be grasping at straws on substitutions and siutational decisions. One thing that is very very apparant and will kill any type of offensive scheme... we can't be patient enough to allow a solid screen to be set and we can't set them if so. We also take rounded angles on cuts instead of sharp "v-cuts" and rarely come to meet a pass. Rebounding/blocking out and defense is basically nonexistent much of the time. I remember being able to watch one of WTs early practices his 1st year and him stopping a drill to admonish players that they looked like "... a bunch of hungry baby birds in the nest" trying rebound under the net. That the only ball they get there are the makes. Besides the lack of talent, which we've seen here before, we are like a HS frosh team in many regards. We've had supposedly worse talent play much much better fundamentally. There seems to be a resistance to coaching, lack of focus, lack of coaching, internal strife, coaching frustration boiling over into practice being detrimental to development, or combo of some or all. But, contrary to some of the nice recent reads on players there has been no real improvements come game time.
