I don't recall the exact quote, but GA mentioned several times after his hire he wanted to own the state of Oregon in recruiting.
Personally just because the kid is from Oregon if he's not a good fit I'd rather find a better fit from out of state. We seem to have better luck with actual on field production by in state players than the sdtr even though theirs are typically rated higher by the services. Nall is the latest example to add with guys like; Poyer, Schuening, Euhus, Hass, Anderson, etc...
That said, here's where we stand currently with the top 10 in state recruits according to Scout:
1. Tuipulotu DT (UW) 2. Molden CB (UW) 3. Neville QB (WSU) 4. Douglas DB (sdtr) 5. Forsyth OT (sdtr) 6. Green ILB (medium interest) 7. Morris OLB (OSU) 8. Kirkland OT (UCLA) 9. Shear OT (UofA) 10. Mackay OT (OSU)

I'm concerned that Morris may be willing to listen to the darkside.

Tuipulotu DT (UW) - never gave us much of a shot. His HS coach Hedrick knows Peterson well, think that also played a part. Hedrick's son played for CP at Boise St. I've seen this kid up close a lot. Bummer that we didn't land him... He's also Talanoa Hufanga's cousin. 2. Molden CB (UW) - We had zero shot. Same will hold true for Cota next year.3. Neville QB (WSU) - I think if MR were still here he would have been a target. Not sure he fits what GA's looking for.4. Douglas DB (sdtr) 5. Forsyth OT (sdtr) 6. Green ILB (medium interest) 7. Morris OLB (OSU) 8. Kirkland OT (UCLA) 9. Shear OT (UofA) 10. Mackay OT (OSU) A number of HS coaches have said that our current staff is much more active in-state than MR's staff was the last few years. That could be because this year and next year seem to be above average in terms of total # of D1 talent out there, or it could be that it truly is an increase in effort from GA's staff. Hard to say...

I do not have to ability to look it up right now, but Oregonlive and BattlePrep Northwest recently re ranked the top 10. The top 4 were Molden, Tuipulotu, Morris, and then Green (from what I remember).
