Good film analysis here by fishduck to show beaver exploitation of duck defensive silliness. I believe this was created for our entertainment. *Also if you notice on the second 3M keeper he displays an alarming lack of break away speed, or maybe confidence in his speed* Enjoy

That was fun to watch and only partially because it was at the expense of the ducks. It's nice to see OSU successfully using the dastardly zone read to beat another team. It's also nice to see the techniques for stopping or at least limiting the success of the zone read. Here's hoping that the OSU defense successfully uses those techniques and the duck defense continues to not.

Kind of surprising MM got run down from behind by LBs. I think he was surprised there was so much running room. He kept looking back over his shoulder which surely slowed him down. AS that play developed and you could see the pursuit gaining on him, I was terrified they were going to punch the ball out. MM pulling the ball back and running for nearly 100 yards was key, and something the *ucks hadn't seen on any film. So nice to get the win!

On the very first video on that link, is our wide receiver performing a patented "duck hold" on the DB? I wonder if our coaches are catching on to the leeway that our refs give to such tactics...

#43 is ... not good.
This kid gets juked on every play I see.
McMaryion jukes him out of his shoes, and I believe he's the kid Nall swatted out of bounds on his little swing pass.
I recall seeing him get schooled repeatedly in the uo/USC game as well.

Schooler is a true freshman, I believe, and the announcers in a game I watched just raved about his future. We have experienced this at OSU...when you get too many young guys starting, the first year can be tough. However, barring injury, in a couple of years that weak team becomes formidable. As long as they have D1 ability, all of the early experience pays off. Both teams played a ton of young kids in the Civil War.

I still remember reading about how "slow" our defense was in 2005 after the CW. 2 years later, nearly that same group of guys was one of the best defenses in the country - not slow at all.

Schooler has good range but his tackling form would be embarrasing for youth football.

Just letting the original poster know who it was, and that it was coincidental that he used the word "schooled". But thanks just the same.

Interesting piece. A couple thoughts...
Interesting how everything was because the dux screwed up. Not that the Beavs did anything well.
In that first video you can see a duck holding Villamin's (I think its Villamin, cant see the number.) facemask for like 5 seconds with no call. PAC-12 refs suck...
