Landing Lane was really important to fill the void of Decoud, but if we could pull Nixon too that'd be a secondary dream come true.
Rahmye would be a giant get too because we need a solid talented classic OLB who could play inside or outside. He appears to fit that bill.
The JC O lineman would be huge too. If you were a JC OL with two years to play and you watched us TAKE a game with 21 straight run plays, would you not want in?!

I saw a picture of Folau at BYU on social media about 2 months back, I think. On retrospect, I think it was probably an old recirculated picture from social media because it being a new one does not make sense.

For what it's worth:
GA was apparently in Mississippi and Oklahoma yesterday. Mississippi would make JC Safety Brian Cole a logical target and I believe we had a JC lineman Joquarius Savage from Mississippi visit earlier in the year. Oklahoma? No idea.
Brennan and McGiven were visiting current WR commits Dionte Sykes and Kolby Taylor yesterday.

for some reason I have this feeling that Nixon would be a fit for Beavermobile's DB hall of fame. I could be wrong.

anyone wondering why we have so many WRs committed and still offers out? seems excessive to me WR: Agreed. I'm thinking it's just planning ahead/depth.. Bolden (and suppose you could include Dockery) gone this year, Jarmon, Villy and Xavier Hawkins after next year. Hopefully we get to a place where we actually redshirt majority of these kids and build some depth. DBs - I could see Wallace moving over to safety due to his size so that's possibly some newly added depth over there. I will say that's Williams was very impressive at safety when he was healthy. He was all over the place. There was another freshman safety - whose name escapes me right now - that came in and made some plays the second half of the year. We might be better off than we think on the back end of our D. I agree, Crawford may have been our most consistent corner. Decoud played well, but Crawford's technique, tackling and instincts were really good, and he was just a freshman!

Vince Guinta just started following Brandon Martin, the #1 JUCO WR in the country (as rated by 247sports) out of Mississippi Gulf Coast, maybe he's on the list of visits? (How many WRs do we need?) He also started following Kenyon Frison, who was a 4* recruit out of Salt Lake City who ended up going to Oklahoma. Frison was kicked off OU a while back for unknown reasons, maybe that's an Oklahoma visit?

Good intel. These days there aren't many surprises when it comes to recruiting so I like seeing some new names pop up that weren't on the radar.

Was there another incident where he got kicked off? Nice information by the way, I hope it's true...we could use another OT.

This might be a n00b question, but technically he signed in 2015 before going on his mission. Why isn't he obligated to come back to OSU? Is there a time-limit on how valid LOI's are good for once signed? If so, it makes you wonder why you would even bother to have them sign in the first place, if it's no better than a verbal commitment. Regardless of the situation, I hope he returns to OSU. His offer sheet out of HS was impressive: www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/187995/christian-folau

Coaches Gary Andersen, Kevin McGiven and Telly Lockette were at Arizona Western yesterday. That's where DT Craig Evans and CB Keisean Nixon play, so I'm sure we were talking to those guys. Another guy to keep an eye on is Patrick Macon, inside LB. I'm not sure we've offered him, but he's recently been followed by a bunch of coaches/staff on twitter.
I think McGiven and Lockette are looking at a 2018 JUCO RB, Greg Bell III, who had a really nice season at Arizona Western. He ran for over 1100 yards as a freshman, led his conference in carries, yards, yards per carry and yards per game. He'd been a San Diego State verbal out of high school, but didn't end up there.
Also, Austin Kafentzis is currently at Arizona Western, didn't get much playing time and was listed as a freshman.

I would really like to get Evans and Nixon.
With the turmoil down South, could we get 2 or 3 of the Salesian threesome?
Another question is, with the # of commitments, when do we start asking guys with offers to change to grey shirts? We are getting close to the total # (thanks ocho and kersting) and there appears to be some real talent still available and on our board.***this is a good concern to have***
If we hold onto Green, is Miller a need? Do we need 2 RB's in this class? Which is the better prospect? Is this a place where we can free up another scholly offer without hurting the roster?

For the first, I bet at least a couple of the current commits have conditional offers already. "If we get ____, your offer is a greyshirt. Hop on it early because we're going to move on if we have to." I wondered that about Miller when he said he was taking a trip to Mizzou, there's a chance his offer was already conditional. Andersen has said a lot of times, he wants 3 guys who can carry it. Nall, Pierce and TJ Green (the better prospect in my opinion) with Kyle White in the mix too. I'd think you'd still want one more guy in case of injury, so maybe they do need two in this class? And they just visited him in house, I think the staff still wants him. I'd think there's really some room to maneuver with all these WR commits. Maybe one or two are expected to greyshirt?

Evans was originally committed to GA at Wisconsin, but flipped to Michigan State at the last minute. Rumors of academic issues arose at the time. Evans redshirted at MSU in 2014, was suspended for spring drills prior to the 2015 season, played some as a freshman, then left for Arizona Western in the spring of 2016. Evans claimed he failed a drug test and was going to be suspended for half the season (this lines up with the penalty for a first time failing of an NCAA administered test for a "street class" drug such as marijuana or heroin), and that spurred him to go the JC route.

I have no idea how conditional offers work in any way, but coaches must have a method: Here's the historical "returning players" plus LOI. This does not account for walk-ons who earned schollies between years, just scholarship guys on the roster with eligibility remaining: 2010: 71 returning, 16 LOI 2011: 64 returning, 19 LOI 2012: 72 returning, 19 LOI 2013: 68 returning, 23 LOI 2014: 68 returning, 27 LOI 2015: 66 returning, 23 LOI So, the number was 89 or more in 4 of the last 6 years. With knowing about mormon missions and knowing if guys will medically retire gives them a bit more wiggle room.

My fear with Evans is 100% academics. To my knowledge, he has us way out in the lead, I don't think anyone else is aggressively pursuing him at the moment, I'm unaware of any other official visits (I could be wrong and I don't subscribe to pay sites). History tells me that if the schools that offered him earlier this season aren't still aggressively recruiting one of the top JC DTs in the country (Arkansas, Ole Miss, etc), then they may have backed off due to grades. This has been our M.O. for years - stay on these type of guys, hope we can get them into school.
