We've had a serious problem for two years now in regards to our half court motion offense. Last year GPII's athleticism and aggressiveness bailed us out more often than not, either scoring himself or penetrating enough to where he could break down inferior defenses. In the NCAA Tournament it was embarrassing how obvious it was. VCU's defense swarmed and made us uncomfortable from start to finish. If it weren't for the freshman catching fire and making ridiculous shot after ridiculous shot it would have been ugly. Keep in mind all of the shots he made were simply isolation, and not within any resemblance of a motion at all. This year we don't have a GPII to bail us/Tinkle out and it's painfully obvious. We have a bunch of players who waste dribbles and too many players who don't move with purpose without the basketball. These problems all point back to coaching. I love Tinkle for the person he is and I'm not by any means saying I think he's a bad coach or that we need something different. All I'm saying is what ever he is teaching them; either it's not working or they're not listening - whether it's the former or latter the coach is to blame either way. Hopefully he can fix it because this team will not win a P12 game playing this way.

Whenever our opponent has space - spreading the floor, they have open looks for the 3's and, if that does not stay open, they just wheel down a wide open lane in the paint. Yet, when we have the ball, we are all bunched up and unable to get one guy open outside or underneath....and passing becomes incredibly difficult. Right now, I think our starting 5 should be Ewbanks, Tinkle, Jaquori, Muller and Manuel. Stacy either hasn't found it, or never had it. Big G is not developing and Ndiaye has also regressed. Sanders had some nice minutes as did Dahlen.

Loved the reminder of the Craig Robinson era: bad turnovers and allowing momentum killing threes NUMEROUS times
