Wallace is on campus, enrolled in school, but not cleared to practice or play. #NCAABlackBox Wallace has been practicing since september, or at least was... Did he get.... Uncleared??? Here is the thread where Wallace starting practice was discussed (http://bennyshouse.com/thread/2326/proof-life) including pics of his jersey in his locker... Here's the last update that I read (article dated 10/24): Still in redshirt status among the true freshmen are QB Mason Moran, linebackers Hamilcar Rashed and Doug Taumoelau, defensive end Kenny Turnier and wide receiver Kee Whetzel.
That’s not including cornerback Christian Wallace, who is in school but not allowed to practice or play games, and defensive end Isaac Garcia, who remains at home in Bellevue, Washington, completing academic requirements. He is expected to enroll at OSU for winter term.
The Beavers, incidentally, are unlikely to gain the services of another top recruit from the 2016 class — Shurod Thompson, the safety from Brentwood, California, who was unable to gain eligibility due to academic issues. OSU coaches are no longer in contact with Thompson.

Seems like a small note in an Eggers piece that was focused on other, broader things... especially when we had the first hand knowledge of Gina Mizell tweeting about him practicing a month before and pics of his locker room... Is there a "Practicing with the team, but not able to play in a game" designation from the NCAA?

Is there a "Practicing with the team, but not able to play in a game" designation from the NCAA? I'm guessing - absolute pure speculation on my part - that if he were actually practicing we would have had updates as well as a "does he burn the redshirt?" discussion given the injuries to the secondary in recent weeks. Surprised there hasn't been anything written in about a month... |
