Please don't start this when they are down. The last three games have bad, real bad. But we have no upperclass to lead us and Tres is running on fumes. With Stevie we beat Lamar and get a pass on Nevada on the road. Tinkle is solid....let this play out.

Here are the players that averaged 10+ minutes/game last year by my math. 7 of them have graduated, left, or are injured... and one of the other two is not 100% healthy. This is going to be a painful preseason as new players learn how to play at this level while others recover from injury.
GP2 Tres Stevie Drew Olaf Malcolm Langston Derrick Jarmal

I prefer an offense where the Coach screams MOVE every 30 seconds.........Tinkle did a masterfully job his first year. That team had zero business being in any games let alone beating Arizona. Yes GP2 took over last year but they will get things figured out. The pieces at the guard position either couldn't make it in school or left at the last minute.

If Tinkle finishes in bottom third of league after thee seasons it is not going to happen. Especially given the recruiting classes he has had. Great recruiter and schmoozer. Seems to lack coaching skills. Not keen on his disciplinary standards. Hope he turns it around so we are not looking at another buy out.

I don't know how anyone could look at the last 2 years of OSU basketball and say Tinkle seems to lack coaching skills. Both teams went further than apractically anyone expected.

Beaver fans can't afford to have the "what have you done for me lately" mentality that dominates hole athletics. This guy is a solid bench coach, really good recruiter and just the type of guy we need. This season is imploding early, but no matter how rough it turns out, we'll be tough next year. That is, as long as our best two players can stay healthy!

I am not sure how good of recruiter he is. 2 of their top players were his son and his assistants son and the assistant has another son on the way. They either need to pick up their recruiting or start having more kids...

Dew is supposed to be good: again, coach can't attend classes for him. Eubanks was a project last year. Still a project. McLoughlin looks pretty solid. Reichle is highly regarded. Doesn't help to have Stevie and Kone hurt. Not sure how that is Tinkle's fault. So, tell me, how is this all on Tinkle?

I had a coach tell us that he would rather us be desire motivated than fear motivated. When you watch this team and you don't see players block out, crash the boards, hustle back on defense, be way out of position on defense, keep moving on offense, take care of the ball, take smart shots etc... as an on looker you wonder what coach is preaching or teaching. I for one am totally against the quick pull but sometimes I think it's appropriate, especially when many of the aforementioned actions are effort. So, if a player doesn't have the desire to do those important things then fear is what you have left and I don't see, in games anyway, players getting pulled.

But ... this is a young team. So you're going to see them play like a young team. There is also the injury/disciplinary/other sh!t to consider: Bruce and Duvivier are gone; Kone, Thompson and now, Tinkle are injured; Dew is wherever. exactly who is there to replace the kids that aren't performing?

Wait... This whole thread is a joke right? This is all just sarcastic, dry humor???
Tinkle and the Beavers could literally lose every game for the rest of the season, and firing Wayne wouldn't even cross my mind.
You guys are crazy with the "he can't recruit" and "he can't coach" talk. Recruiting someone you have a tangential (not fan/basketball) relationship with is just as hard if not harder than recruiting a stranger, in a lot of ways those recruiting efforts started 18 YEARS ago... So no you DON'T get to discount Tres and Stevie as just Coaches Sons...
Speaking of Tres and Stevie, awfully hard to be winning games when you two best, veteran (if you can call ture sophomores veteran) are hurt...
