The Huskies! It was surprising to me because he had figured to be yuck lock the past couple of years. Since his dad, Alex, was a star DB there in the 90s and he coaches with former hole QB Chris Miller, I just chalked him up as heading to the landfill. I know that being the son of a former player from a particular institution provides no guarantee that you'll follow in dad's footsteps (see Joey Alfieri or Jake Browning and OSU recently) but with the Nike resources and the bling machine down south, along with unprecedented success the last couple of decades, it did surprise me.
The cool thing is, hole was not even Molden's #2 choice. Stanford was the leader until right before his announcement. I can understand a kid being drawn to Montlake. Seattle is a cool bigger city, UW is a first-class institution, Chris Petersen is a tremendous coach and the Huskies are on the front end of a serious roll, IMO. I remember our state frequently losing a lot of our best talent to UW in their former glory days, and it's going to be a real battle keeping the best here moving forward. I just love that hole is getting a taste of this!
Good for you Elijah...you went with your heart (and he talked about academics too in his decision). I wish him the best!

Not mentioned in your post is how this relates to OSU. Were we his #4?

Anything negative pertaining to Hole, the Yucks, the *ucks, TSDTR, The Toilet Seats, Nike U, the Landfill, etc. qualifies as Beaver news round these parts.

Not mentioned in your post is how this relates#1 to OSU. Were we his #4? I guess that if you can't figure out how a setback to the unequivocal #1 rival for the Beavs, it's not even worth an explanation. If we're sitting in Reser and an update comes across the PA system saying that hole has lost, it's generally the loudest reaction in the stadium that day. It may be sad that this has been our highlight the past few years, but that's reality...a source of encouragement for every true Beaver fan who has endured countless indignanties at the water cooler from blowhard 'uck fan can relate to that!

good kid but not sure he pans out at the next level. He is very slight and gets dinged easy. The WL coaches do not like to play him on offense much for that reason. He already has 2 concussions in his career. Like a lot of college defenses UW puts their corners on an island so they can support the run with safeties. A lot of times they are asking their corners to "set the edge" and fight through blockers for run support. Eli is about 25 pounds light for that. He might be a dangerous kick returner and change of pace guy here and there with his burst but huge loss for the dux? nuh uh.

I really wonder if that kid is cut out for D1 ball. He is so slight and has also rarely been full speed in his school career due to concussions, ankle problems and other nick-nacks. He's a good kid but it wouldn't surprise me if he's just another 4 star recruit that doesn't pan out. And oh yeah At least nobody did that stupid Animal House reference at you for being so far behind the times. I rued the day i first made that reference on PO and then it was copied Ad infinitum.
