I made this comment to my friends the other day, it's not even funny anymore, it's just sad. I hope he gets the help he needs.

Agreed....there's no humor there....I'm thinking some mental illness at work, but regardless, that's really tragic.

The Sac Bee is reporting Cliff has CTE. If accurate, that's a damn shame.
Whether the NCAA wants to pay players or not, they absolutely NEED to start giving former players health coverage to help with situations like this. That's the absolute least they can do. Obviously, that doesn't guarantee a guy will seek help, but it'd be a step in the right direction in my opinion.

The Sac Bee is reporting Cliff has CTE. If accurate, that's a damn shame. Aggravated by addiction apparently. Our society needs to start recognizing addiction as a disease and treating it that way instead of locking people up. This is an epidemic that is going largely unrecognized and needs to be addressed. The Sac Bee must know something the scientific community does not, because last I heard, CTE could only be diagnosed post-mortem. Mayo Clinic on CTE DiagnosisNow, I'm not doubting he has it, because honestly have you heard of one football player autopsied that didn't have it? I'd be willing to bet most athletes in impact sports have it.

To judge by his mother's description Cliff seems to be a victim of circumstances. I didn't take it that way. Just a Mom loving her son in a sickness. Cliff obviously needs some help. I really hope his family can help him pull out of his downward spiral
