- Bigs (Big G and CND) showed off a nice touch via a hook shot - sure, was against undersized Corban, but that is a good shot over anyone.
- Jacquiri will be good, but he needs to get up to game speed (I am sure there is another gear there somewhere). Nice long range touch, good midrange, and some slashing ability as well.
- Muller looks a good long range specialist and his hustle will get him some minutes
- Big G looks slimmed down and played extended minutes (compared to last year's spot duty)
- Thompson and Tres didn't miss a beat
- we will miss Bruce's quickness and ball handling - the rest of our guards seemed a step slow (Corban had some jitterbugs at the guard spot, but our guys were consistently trailing)
- rebounding is still challenging for us - perhaps our forwards yet to see the floor will help in that regard
- GPII was like his father in one regard - he seemed to make players around him better - I don't see the replacement for that yet.
I think we will be grinding things out a bit this year unless JM finds that next gear, and 9th doesn't seem that much of a slight in the Pac-12 after what little I saw and can be inferred from the evidence at hand.
Sound system still sounds muddy (did it get upgraded?).
On to preview WBB tomorrow!
