I thought the winter classic was stadium hockey in January not the world series.
Anyone else think it's ridiculous these guys have to wear parkas (?) and long underwear for their biggest event of the year.
I hope PC tells recruits that the two most important times of the year in the Majors are how you start and how you finish and if you can't play in inclement weather your chances of making it in the bigs will be greatly diminished.

Good point.
Or are they just a bunch of pansies that can't handle a little chill in the air? I really have no idea what the temps and windchill were last night.

Well, if you grow up in the tropics and normally spend fall and winter playing baseball in the tropics... Chicago in late October might not be something you're used to. Lol

I cant even count how many times I froze my ass off at Candlestick Park watching the Giants play. Roger Craig was the manager then and he used to make fun of the players that wore long sleeves. He was a prototypical old time baseball coach. Good Times! And go National League. The AL is an abomination - make the pitchers hit!

All of baseball except the MLB NL is apparently an abomination by your definition since all of baseball uses the DH except for them. Time to move into the 21st century NL and adopt the DH like the rest of organized baseball.

All of baseball except the MLB NL is apparently an abomination by your definition since all of baseball uses the DH except for them. Time to move into the 21st century NL and adopt the DH like the rest of organized baseball. As a guy who watches a LOT of MLB baseball, I find the AL extremely boring to watch. There's almost no strategy. No thinking about walking the #8 hitter to force the pitcher to hit. No wondering if a manager will make a double switch to allow a reliever to go multiple innings (although THAT scenario has changed a bit with 7 or 8 man bullpens - often now it's wondering whether a manager will run out of bench players). AL games are simply "send the guy up there and see if he can hit it". I do like to have a bit more to think about while I'm watching a game. At least in college and lower levels, you don't typically have thumpers throughout the line-up, so lots more situational bunting and "small-ball" goes on. Everyone has an opinion, I guess. Just seems to me if you watch a sh!t-ton of baseball, the NL is a lot more fun to watch because there are so many more variables.
