This might have had something to do with that.
1. The MWC schools agreed to pay UNLV $20.09m from the Exit Fees of the five schools that left the conference to join OSU - WSU in the PAC. 2. The MWC will move it's headquarters from Colorado Springs to Las Vegas. 3. The MWC Basketball Tournament will held in Las Vegas. 4. UNLV can join a Power-4 Conference without penalty of an exit fee. * Air Force received the same deal.

To be fair, the Mountain West Basketball Tournament was already in Las Vegas, but, yes, they bent over backwards to get UNLV to stay. UNLV chose to be the Mountain West's first choice and refused to be the Pac-12's seventh choice.

The MWC Hoop Tourney was already there but it sounds like it mjust became "permanently" there. Air Force was an interesting case - they were being courted by the AAC.

They get a release from the MOU and the Grants of Rights. The bylaws is where the exit fee is located. Here is the MOU.

Not only not binding, but the MWC does not have the $ to fulfill the obligations depending on the court case.

As I understand it, the allocation of exit fees isn't in question so the $20m payment to UNLV is a done deal. What is in question is the "poaching" damages suit which could bring UNLV as much as an additional $13m if the MWC prevails.

Recently, I attended an informational dinner meeting with some deputy A.D. people from Oregon State for the purpose of bringing people up to speed on the Pac-12 realignment progress and prognosis. Plenty of questions were asked and adequately answered, but the one thing that was emphasized about who had been added and who might be added in the future , and who had turned down our offer was this.." It's very easy to turn down an offer that was never made". From this, I think we can deduce that UNLV, and a few others, were NEVER OFFERED a seat at the Pac-12 Table.

The social media rumor mongers must love the realignment and NIL crap!

But...is that referring to UNLV or Tulane/Memphis (which, I mean, we heard details of the offer...) Or it could be a few like UTSA who added themselves at the table.

But if we never offered UNLV, wouldn't that likely mean that we already knew they would say no?

Maybe it was more important to be in Logan rather than Las Vegas?

Maybe it was more important to be in Logan rather than Las Vegas? And that seems................unlikely. I figured that the Utah State was the way to get UNLV on board. And yet, here we are.
