I was at the game last night. The Beavers were on top of these guys from the get-go; the goal the Falcons scored was against the run of play, as the Beavers had much greater possession, and had already forced their goalie to make a couple of saves.
But after BG scored, though, the Beavers came roaring back. Both goals, scored within 3 minutes of one another, were well-worked, and Solans showed off a nifty bit of ball handling in scoring the second goal.
The Beavers last goal was particularly good---The BG goalie kept working up the field, 30-35 yards from the goal, had to scramble back, and it appeared to me that his defense was scrambled a bit, too. Solans got off a shot, which was blocked, gobbled up the rebound, and chipped a pass to the left of their goalie, which Farnos headed home.
One thing I noticed in particular was that the Beavers were generally much quicker to the ball all game long, which permitted them to both control the ball more/longer, but also to get off far more shots than BG did. Another was that Solans had a lot of action--I think they found him hard to mark; I also did not know that Solans is a redshirt freshman--Great! I think he is a really good player.
