They were expecting a big crowd. How was attendance?

Candidly, I thought we did about as expected if not better than.
125 did very well. Renteria will make noise this year. Could be in the mix at the end of the year 133 needs to figure it out. Not sure Elliot is the answer over wiz. 26 points allowed is crazy even if it is Ayala you are wrestling 141 very close score, could have gone our way 149 roughly around what I expected vs Parco 157 MD vs Iowa in your first match as a Beav? Hats off to you Mr. Stiles 165 I like Fouret, but I thought this was a rough match. 174 thought it could go either way. I think Harman will do well this year. Thought he could have got that match 184 tough match and really good opponent. Don’t love 20 points allowed 197 great opportunity and match. Thought Trey could have taken it. HVY Mower took on Keuter. Was about what I thought it’d be.
Maybe we left 3 wins on the table. Harman and Singleton were closest. Trey next closest.

I was there, guessing about 4K on attendance. Just reading 4273 was the actual. Not bad Beaver Nation.
125 was a great spark for us, the 4K plus mentioned above really roared with Maximo's performance. Nash let one get away. The Iowa kids 3 or 4 mat returns and 3rd period takedown were the difference. Harmon similar, it always sucks to lose by a RT point. Really wanted Trey to push through and get a ranked win to start the season, but didn't happen. He will have more opportunities in front of him.
Its real early but I think we have improved at: 25, 57, 74 & 97 over last seasons squad. And that is not a knock on any of the previous guys. We should have come away with some confidence after this battle. 2 wins and real close chances at 3 more against #2 in the nation. We will be a solid dual meet team. The guys will get another shot this Friday vs B12 foe North Dakota St.

Finished watching the replay at work this morning - darn timezones got to me
125 - thought he did solid, don't know how many guys at the weight will really out class him this year; he should be competitive in almost every match all season 133 - lot of fight but just out classed; no shame in that against a returning finalist. Plenty of room for growth before March but liked that he didn't stop fighting 141 - Singleton's opponent was a pretty highly touted recruit and that length was going to be a bad stylistic matchup for Nash. . . that being said can't help but feel Nash let that one get away 149 - Jacinto has a lot of fight; he's not on Parco's level but he's gonna win matches some people won't expect; I've got no gripes with his performance 157 - Great showing by Stiles over a guy who was ranked all last year and won a match at NCAAs 165 - Caliendo is just really really friggin good; sometimes you run into a buzzsaw 174 - right there; can't wait to see more of Sean to get a better idea of where he's at 184 - This is really the only weight I cam away disappointed across the board; not really much else to say 197 - wanted this one bad; learn from it, get him the next time - that double midway through the 2nd that didn't count was pretty; hindsight probably should have rode a little to start the 3rd 285 - Mower surprised the heck out of me; very intrigued to see more of him
One concern that I hope doesn't become a trend is I felt Iowa won every 3rd period that mattered; hard to say if that's a conditioning problem or an Iowa problem w/ the small sample size but also peak for March not Nov 2nd so I can talk myself out of that concern
I took a peak at the Iowa message board to see their thoughts; very angsty about how close/how much fight guys Jacinto, Harman, Mower, etc put up and is in a bit of a panic so that's the view from the other side
Also I love the new singlets

Good insights scottishsteel and kosherbeaver. Pretty much the way I saw it as well. A couple more thoughts....A great development story is Max at 125. He did not perform well at Illinois. Coming to OSU was a great move. Working out with Kaylor and developing for a year into a guy who beat Figueroa soundly is a great testament to our coaches developing him and to his workout partners. Jacinto is going to turn heads. He is tough. It will be interesting to see what happens there with Tolentino. IMO, Buchanan's size wore down Trey a little bit in the 3rd. He looked spent at the end. I think it might take a little time for Trey to settle in at 197. It's a little different wrestling 197 than 184 - it takes a lot more energy to finish shots on a guy who is bigger. I think we will see multiple starters at 133 and 184. Both guys looked a little starstruck, but they also had tough matches for their first outing. Too bad Mower doesn't weight 250. He looked pretty decent. Could have won that match. Overall I was pretty happy with how we looked. I think starting with our toughest dual, despite losing, will set a good tone for the rest of the season. As a side note, we only get the champ at each weight at the Pac-12. We are going to have to win some tough matches along the way to get at-large bids.... which is why this tough schedule is really important.

idaho Is that guaranteed to be a 1 bid league at conference? or will there be any chance of like 2 AQ's at the weight? I know the 4 team conference is weird and unprecedented so wasn't sure how it worked.

Buchanan definitely had some size and a lot of length. Cardenas at Michigan and Little @ Arkansas LR are a couple of other guys who are pretty similar size/build to Buchanan. Like you said, might just be a bit of an adjustment period. But glass half full - Trey was controlling last year's 3rd place winner at 197 for about 80% of the match. He'll be fine.

I know the 4 team conference is weird and unprecedented so wasn't sure how it worked. Yes - we get the champ at each weight automatically and the rest go into the at-large pool. The same thing happened before we got Little Rock into the conference. That's why the schedule is so important so that we can build up the resume for at large selections. At 197 with Ferrari, Munoz and Little, only the champ will get an automatic bid. But, I am certain the other two will get in on at larges. At 157 Bianchi, Lamer adn Stiles are all top 33 (Intermat) but only one gets the automatic bid. The other two go into the at-large. It sucks to only have 4 teams, so I am hoping we can get a couple more teams added for next season.
