The more teams in the playoff, the less the regular season matters. Maybe we should go to a 128-team playoff and have it run all season long... so the regular season IS the playoff. Kind of like it used to be. The issue I've thought about... do you want to be in your B10, ACC, or SEC (B12 teams may need to win to get in Top12) title game? For example, does Penn St (or Indiana if they lose to tOSU) care? Being a #5-8 seed gives you extra time to heal/rest and you get to host. Rest and hosting #5/12, #6/11, #7/10... even #8/9... isn't a bad trade off. You certainly do not want to lose the Championship Game. But you only get a bye, if you win your conference's Championship Game. You easily trade a bye in the Conference Championship Game weekend for a bye in the First Round.

fUCLA pulled an upset over Nebraska. Darn…. Hey, maybe the PAC II should send an invite to the huskers! They’re aren’t having much success in the new big wtf ever. 😁

Being a duck hater it puts more good teams in their way. I know, I need to find a hobby 😄 Some think betting may make some coaching decisions... ummm questionable. I mean family & friends can bet... use inside info... right? So, last I saw Ore @ UM line was -14.5. Up 31-17 under 35 seconds and instead of kneeling, ucks score a TD. Ya wonder all the crap that may (or may not) go on. Michigan still had a timeout. Always bail your degenerate betters out. Maybe they buy a t-shirt or something. That's how you build a fanbase.

Arizona State up 28-14 over Oklahoma State in Stillwater. With a loss, the Cowboys would be on a six-game losing streak, the Cowboys' longest since November 4, 2000. Bob Simmons announced he was resigning two days later. Oklahoma State hired Les Miles, and the Cowboys have never really looked back.

Colorado St. up 28-7 over UN(R), 6:40 left in the third.
What happened to us vs. Nevada?

Colorado St. up 28-7 over UN(R), 6:40 left in the third. What happened to us vs. Nevada? McCoy decided to become Gevani Four Picks. And the run defense decided to employ the swiss cheese strategy. And despite how poorly McCoy played against Nevada, the coaching staff still started him against UNLV. The run defense greatly improved over the last two games, but the pre-Nevada McCoy has not yet made an appearance.

For the smart people on the board... is it possible that other coaching staffs are more seasoned and able to tweak their game plan (before and during) now that they have film, whereas our staff is too inexperienced? Granted, players poor performance doesn't help but coaches can breed confidence, or hurt it.

My buddy in Oklahoma that is a huge pokes fan has had it with Gundy, even before this game. Says many fans feel the same way. Sounds like much of our fan base before MR left. They appreciate what he did for the program, he has outlived his tenure there.

You don't want the kid's confidence completely blown apart and then flushed further. I'm still thinking maybe he suffered some injury that's lingering. Just hasn't looked quite the same.

I will agree with the last bit. I think that he was hurt in the Nevada game or at sometime between the Colorado State and Nevada games. McCoy just has not looked right. But much the same way that I was critical of Riley rushing Mannion back and starting him over Vaz against Washington in 2012, I am critical of this coaching staff starting McCoy three games that he was not right. And thinking back to Riley, I was upset with Riley playing Mannion for three quarters against Washington. And Gundy started McCoy three straight games, even after McCoy played like a literal dumpster fire against both Nevada and UNLV. I just cannot believe that McCoy was still out there stinking it up against Cal. How does that make any sense? And as to ruining confidence, if Mannion's confidence was not ruined after being benched for Washington, Arizona State, Stanford, and Texas, McCoy's not going to sweat being benched for San Jose State, Air Force, Wazzu, and Boise. I still am not sold that McCoy is the future. I am more optimistic that Johnson is the quarterback of the future. Gulbranson still seems like the quarterback of the present to me.

Johnson is not getting playing time, because he can't throw an FBS-level football at the moment. Great runner. Flashes of great things. But he's not ready for primetime yet.
