3 Star EDGE Bleu Dantzler commits today. 6'3" 230 from Chandler, AZ. Had offers from SMU, SDSU, CSU and flipped to us from USU.
4th pass rusher for the 2025 class, 16th high school player overall.

Weird mention in the article that he "asked out"? Not like he signed. A player doesn't have ask out to flip a commitment.

Video shows he plays really aggressively. I think he will need to work on tackling but he disengages well and seems to try to take the ball every tackle.

I think the West Point offer is something to note... that is not an easy place to get into. You need grades and leadership/community service.
Looking forward to watching him play!

Last I saw there was about a 9.8% acceptance rate for the (5) service academies combined in 2023. However, the Coast Guard and Merchant Marines had rates above 20%, but they do not make up the bulk of the 41k+ applications. I think the grad rates are all still above 80%+.

No. You graduate in four years. In rare instances, Cadets/Middies are "turned back" for academic reasons and must repeat a year. If you don't show academic progress, you are separated from an academy. They're not wasting money on you.

Most "athletes" take 5 years as the 1st year is normally at the Prep School. That being said, 5 years is about the max. As mentioned above, getting an extra year (5 or 6) to graduate from the actual Academy is very rare.
