Attended the UNLV, Boise State game last night. The Allegiant Stadium was fantastic and the crowd was over the top. The WAC scored big time, and the, diluted, PAC 12 failed again in not bringing the Las Vegas experience into the conference.

It was announced all week as a sellout in Vegas. It wasn't even close... 42k+ in what a 65k venue. As soon as I heard that during broadcasts hyping UNLV, I told myself no way they're selling out Allegiant.

It made a short-term decision to take the easy money from the MWC instead of investing in the long haul. Their loss, not ours. Odom is not long for Vegas, When he leaves, they will return to their historical football suckdom. Was that the first game in UNLV history to draw more than 30K? BTW, first time on a truly national stage, and they lost. Just like in their bowl game last year, and just like in the 2023 MWC championship game.

As a competitive football program? Well, this will be their 4th winning season in 30 years.

Playing in Allegiant, as opposed to Sam Boyd Stadium, and having someone else foot the bill is a huge win for UNLV football. Something like that can really jump start a program. Utah was able to take their entire program to a whole other level after the government subsidized upgrading Rice-Eccles before the 2002 Olympics.
