What you think you see as a lack of athletic ability is a product of poor coaching. Guys not setting the edge, guys taking bad angles on tackles, poor tackling fundamentals, DBs just letting receivers settle into open space and on and on. The Beavers have guys who are good athletes. The linebackers can all run. Edge guys like Saez and Omotosho can run. The DBs all can run. It doesn't help when some of these guys aren't able to play but we continue to see the same results because they aren't functioning correctly. I understand your point. But, we are also playing teams that didn't lose their HC last season. We really can't withstand the amount of injuries we've had. Wow, and that's why we don't throw down field. All day to throw......I spose that was coaches fault? Walker wasn't open. Again, why does Gundy refuse to use guys who can or potentially can stretch the field? The guy ran the football like 75 percent of the time early in the season and completely disregarded the need to develop a passing game and that includes getting more than three receivers some PT.

Where is David Wells? Taz Reddicks? Are they hurt? What about Card? What about Jordan Anderson? Jamai East? Montrel Hatten? Malachi Durant? Maybe some are banged up but it seems weird that Gundy is so determined to just go with Walker and Noga with Clemons if available. Card was in. He had that seeet ill-advised kickoff return that screwed us over for another series.

Find it weird the best season we've had in awhile is when Ben started for most the season and he basically hasn't played since.

Cal's kicker is looking good. All of a sudden he does...against us of course. He's been awful all season until today..

Coming into this week I thought there was a chance this team could get things going in the right direction, and still make a decent bowl game. Now I just want to see growth.
We are a bad football team. Some nice pieces to build on. Everything from here forward has to be about rebuilding for next season and beyond. X's and O's simply don't matter when you're starting most of your 2 and 3 deep. Simply don't have the depth to cover for all the hits this program has taken over the last year.
This year gets an asterisk from me. If this staff can continue to build, develop, and get a team to stay healthy I'll be more interested in what they do next year. If we don't see a very different product a year from now then it's time to have some tough conversations with a coach or two.

Something that we have on the bench but choose to play a bunch of "possession" type guys.

This is the problem with Ben, he can’t move, and doesn’t throw any better than McCoy.

Gee, that series looked different! Not Crosser... wide open immediately. But, when you've not seen the field tough to read the open guy behind free blitzer.
