Falsken played his prep ball in the rugged Marmonte League in Ventura County. Bryce Fehmel played in the Marmonte at Agoura. He is a gap to gap line drive hitter - the Bend blast may have even surprised him. Maybe the Gonzaga pitching he faced Sunday isn't as good as what he faced in the Marmonte.  SOME FUN FACTS ON CADE: Newberry Park is an I.B. (International Baccalaureate) school (enrollment of 2,300). Cade pulled a 4.0 GPA in that program. He's smart. Cade played football his freshman and Sophomore years - Cornerback/ Wide receiver. He's fast. Cade's two older brothers were standout baseball players at NPHS, one played at North Carolina State. He has good bloodlines. Cade's Dad Tim, played in the 1993 CWS with Long Beach State. Now that Cade is a Beaver, he can watch his son play in Omaha every year. In a 4 year 90 game varsity career, Cade had a .472 On Base %. |

It looks like they already gave away his number. Tim Falsken played for Long Beach State from 1991-1995. Falsken's 1991 and 1992 campaigns ended early, because of shoulder and leg injuries. Falsken played third base in the 1993 College World Series run. That Long Beach State team became the first team to lose the first game and force a winner-take-all game for the right to play in the Championship Game after the 1987-1988 College World Series format overhaul. LSU shut the door on Long Beach State 6-5 in that game and then trounced Wichita State in the ChampionshiP Game. After the overhaul, USC was the first team to win four straight games into the Championship Game after a first game loss in 1995. 1998 USC was the first team to win the National Championship after losing the first game in the 1988-2002 format. |
