The Guardians are in the ALCS for the first time since 2016. Hopefully, that portends another entertaining year.
The Guardians are in the ALCS for only the second time since 2007 and third time since 1998. Sixth appearance ever.
For perspective, the Yankees have appeared six times in the last 15 years versus the Guardians sixth appearance ever.

Barring a 9th-inning comeback Kwan will go 1-for-4 with an RBI in Game 1 against the Yankees.

Kwan finishes 1/4 with the second RBI in a 5-2 loss. Kwan was stranded at first in the eighth after driving in his lone RBI.

The Game Three starter has a decent chance of being the Game Seven starter, assuming that there is a Game Seven. The Yankees matched a franchise record 14 consecutive seasons without an AL pennant last year. (The Highlanders/Yankees combined to not win the AL the first 18 years of the AL's existence, which is the record, if you include the Yankees' time as the Highlanders.) The Yankees' fans really want to return to the World Series to end the current drought. |
