Saw Knobach, Femhel and Gretler at the football game today. The glue guys on some of the greatest teams in OSU baseball history.

Love all three of those guys! Knobach was a fireball! His energy was infectious. Fehmel was nails on the mound.....4 year guy. 33-8 record, with 3.27 era. Gret was absolutely a rock solid 3rd baseman, who would come up with the clutch hit.

Just so no one else repeats the misspelling, Nobach, not Knobach. Nobach is Anglicized German. In German, the name is Neubach (the "eu" make an "oy" sound), the "new brook."

The way that "Knoblauch" is pronounced is very different from the way that Chuck's surname was pronounced.

Dan Patrick, or someone on Sportcenter always said fundamentally sound, Chuck Knoblauch, when he would have a highlight play. That was a memory lane moment as soon as I read his name. Nobach, Fehmel, and Gretler were great Beavers.

That's funny.....when I saw knobach I think I kind of combined it with knoblauch.....now that I see Nobach it's like oh yea that looks right!
