When I got to law school, it occurred to me that I would be spending an inordinate amount of time with lawyers for the rest of my life. And that had not dawned on me before arriving to law school. And I determined that I may have made a mistake in taking steps to purposefully spend more time with lawyers. I personally try and avoid listening to the law or other lawyers in general in my free time. Listening to the law or listening to lawyers sounds a lot like work. And I often find myself mulling over the counterpoints to the lawyer who is talking.

Gladwell isn't a a lawyer, he is a journalist and author somewhat famous for the 10,000 hours to become an expert quote. Recent best seller was 'The Bomber Mafia". However, this podcast does have lawyers talking if that triggers you...lol

Wilky gets triggered by reading the T&Cs on those little tags on mattresses.

Not his finest hour.

Wilky gets triggered by reading the T&Cs on those little tags on mattresses. I wrote some t&c's before. I have had to analyze a bunch of t&c's. I once got uninvited to an interview, because I complained about the t&c's to a legal interview post-COVID-19. (Those were crazy t&c's. If you had COVID-19, whether you knew it or not, and attended the in-person interview, and someone came down with COVID-19, you were agreeing to accept liability not only to the person, who got sick, but also to the firm. Ridiculous!) Mattress t&c's have never come up. But if you want to have a wretched convo about t&c's, we can?

I won't listen to the podcast for legal analysis, but I was always amazed that people were getting prosecuted for making bribes to get there kids into school, especially private schools. Public schools, one could make the case that it s bribing a public official, but privates? Isn't that what they do all of the time?

Not a lawyer my any means, and for the most part is incredibly nuanced and tends to take a moderate approach to everything. I would highly suggest consuming any of his content as much as possible All his books are great, and I have listened to most of his podcasts (Revisionist History is the name of the podcast) and enjoyed and learned something every time.

Did you see his pro-Alberto Salazar documentary? If so, what did you think?
