Baseball America has him ranked as the 53rd prospect for 2025 MLB Draft, might not even make it to campus.

What would prompt an Oregon player who has been committed to his in-state school and an elite program for over two years, to suddenly change his mind? Traveling 2,000 miles from home to play in the heat and humidity of the deep south doesn't seem that all that attractive. Was It the lure of the competitive SEC, the big crowds that attend home games in Baton Rougue. or the coaching genius of Johnson and Yeskie? Or . . . wa$ it $omething el$e that wa$ behind the $udden $witch?
At first glance Hamilton represents a big loss for the Beavers, but is it really? He is ranked #27 nationally with Rawlings-Perfect Game. He is projected to be an early round selection in the '25 MLB Draft. As Joe Cool mentioned, our chances of getting him on campus are slim and none. This is not a Dax Whitney scenario, If Hamilton has flipped to L$U for sizeable NIL, chances are he'll sign a lucrative Pro offer and bypass college
Hamilton becomes the 4th flip in our 2025 class - we previosly lost RHP Drew Van Court (PG-#500) to TCU, SS Ryker Waite (PG-#453) to Vanderbilt, and RHP/SS R.J. Holmes (PG-#101) to Duke. With Hamilton's exit, the class now stands at 12 with any Portal or J.C. transfers to be added following the 2025 season.

Well since no player can accept NIL $ unless they are a enrolled student is all just promises. And, as has been well documented most are never fulfilled. So, I guess his "flip" is just like his commitment...
Both meaningless.
Until a player signs a NLI they are nothing more than a high school player that has options.

Neither of us is naive enough to think that money can't be funneled to a player through back channels, enrolled or not. Or, they simply told him what he can expect if he signs and attends. Whatever they offer, he better get it in writing.

In football we are beginning to see the consequences of "broken promises" or "misunderstandings". Florida's program was bruised with their Collective's broken NIL promise to the Vallejo QB and recently we have seen several star players opt to redshirt a year over broken or misunderstood NIL promises with the assurance they will be back in the Portal ASAP. These situations are not the kind of publicity any school is looking for - prospective recruits see this and trust goes out the window.

Whatever they offer, he better get it in writing. Nope not naive, but even LSU's collective isn't going to risk major infraction and publicity over him. Not a program changer, no Skenes at this stage. Nor would common sense dictate a collective would not only take such a risk, but on a player that can take the $ and go somewhere else or be drafted. LSU has plenty of talent enrolled to take care of. Plus, no contract possible until he's a student. Which I think is what you meant... if when he is. I know we're all Beavers here, but there is plenty to attract a player to LSU.

Infractions? What infractions, NIL has no guard rails - tampering is rampant, players have Agents representing them, there is no cap on payments and it's the wild west x 10. Coaches are screaming for regulation while the NCAA is so battered from their multitude of lawsuits they won't act.

Happened so soon after the 2025 schedule release. Coincidence? Is he possibly thinking the 2026 schedule will be just like 2025?

You may want to pay attention to multiple violations that have made the news regarding boosters and NIL collectives. Paying a HS student would rank as a pretty easy one to enforce.
