We'll beat Stanford, Arizona, and hole. Outside chance at Wazzugly and fUCLA.
I don't feel I'm talking outta my ass.
Get Nall and the boys healthy. We have a QB who can complete a pass.
It doesn't get any tougher from here. We get tougher from here.

Our opponents to this point are a combined 36-8. From here on out? 16-20. Let's get some.

(Tongue in cheek........a little.)

Stanford's 5 points today are their fewest scored since 2007. Who was the team that held them to their 2007 low? Oregon State (@ Reser) 23-6. Arizona State (@ Stanford Stadium) 41-3. (St. Dennis' first year in Tempe.)

Arizona State (@ Stanford Stadium) 41-3. (St. Dennis' first year in Tempe.) I stand corrected. Looked right past that one. No worries, mate. We all miss a game or two going through the annals. The 23-6 win was impressive because most of it was played sans Bernard. The defense really stepped up.

All we gotta do to beat Wazzu is use the run game on wazzu and have our DB's stick to the wazzu WR's like glue and we could beat wazzu like we beat cal, hopefully with no overtime needed.

It doesn't get any tougher from here. We get tougher from here. I try to not project specific wins, but I guess at 58 I can throw aside superstition...maybe?! I do believe that we have a legit shot against 'furd and 'zona and the Civil War, straight up. It will be interesting to see what the spread will be on those games. Of all of those, we probably match up physically the best. Arizona's scheme may challenge us, and our anemic pass rush could hurt against hole. We should be able to run against those teams, so PLEASE offensive coordinators, run the stinking ball, and pass only on rare occasions with quick stuff and play action, and on 2nd and less than 3! I think that the other two games are long shots at best. We could definitely get mauled by the Cougs due to aforementioned anemic pass rush and their improved D. Falk is efficient and their receivers are clever, skilled and consistent - including their running backs. As for UCLA? Man, Mora's fanny should be heating up. They consistently have top 10 or 15 recruiting classes, and they do very little with the talent. They seem to often get bit by the injuries at key positions, but we're the type of team that they temporarily figure it out against. If they play like they have been lately, they could be had.... but I won't count on it, and I don't like that it's a road game! My heart reaches for the moon and we finish 6-6, but my head says that too much would have to fall into place, including cooperation from those opponents. Realistically, all of those teams but the Cougs will go into their game with us feeling that we are going to be a "get better" opponent on their schedules, and they will bring it! Further, our guys will have to take a next step and consistently maintain that level of performance and belief in themselves. My head wins out and tells me that 3 or 4 wins this season...which is 2 or 3 more than I felt we'd win after that hot mess in Boulder!

According to the old phrase "the biggest improvement is between your first and second game" I expect to see a big improvement in our QB play this next week. Considering he's had all of 3-4 practices with the first team thus far, and he'll get that again this week, it really could be the case.
ALL of the games from here on are winnable.
It's GREAT to see a thread covering how many games the team is going to win from here on as opposed to how badly they are going to be beaten from here on.

Just to echo what has been said here, I'm happy many of my negative feelings about this team were wrong. After Colorado, I thought we had a chance to be historically bad. The Cal game was a magical free Hawaiian vacation to my emotions. We have a chance to win some games now. This team is enormously flawed but they are fighting and getting better.
