bahh!...another INT by MCM just after we recover our own onside kick!... now I deff feel MCM is forever a 3rd stringer Qb. Which puts in motion again the QB controversy up for discussion again. MacMaryion may very well be a third stringer, but if so, he is a third stringer on a team of scout players and walk-ons at the QB position. No way does Garretson pass for near 150 against this UW team. Same with Blount.
UW has an outstanding defense with a DL that blew past our OL, play after play. MacMaryion handled it okay for someone who only this week was given starting reps. I, for one, would like to see him given more opportunity this season.
The big difference is he can complete a downfield pass. In fact, I'd argue if the OC would stop calling these ridiculous passes behind the LOS, particularly on 3rd down and short to no avail, he would have thrown for over 250 today. It's really frustrating to see a QB get in a groove, then the coaching staff takes him out of it. See first long drive that resulted in no points.

I completely agree...Passes behind the LOS are fine as a surprise once in a while, but when a D gets wise to them, they get stuffed...a lot. They are also a lot harder to make as a completion then they look. The receiver or RB must be hit in stride or they never hit the momentum that they need.
MacMaryion did make some nice passes downfield today. That was a nice change.

I was in the car at the time so I didn't see it but Jim Wilson seemed to think that play was on Villamin for lining up incorrectly, getting our spacing hosed up and allowing the safety to come over for the pick. Said our 2 receivers were way too close together in their routes... Again, didn't see it but for whatever it's worth... They also mentioned at least 4 other drops that should have been catches. MM did very well considering the circumstances. Not that the outcome mattered, but a couple of drops killed drives that would have resulted in at least 2-3 min. off the clock and better field position, and no time for at least the last UW FG.
I'd like to know why AR is not our kicker full time???

I would like to see mcm run more though. the beavs dagger in the pac-12 is the running game for sure. uh that would be stupid considering how many games are left and how many QB's are left. Im sure mcm is tough enough to withstand a tackle, besides, our run game is what scores us points, and can win us possibly a couple more games. Its what won us the Cal game! plus when you run a spread offense you gotta run ur QB to keep the defense guessing. along with a passing game which this team is still developing. i hope to see in the future our QB's playing like Russell Wilson, Colin Capernick or Marcus Mariota.
