That kind of behavior isn't acceptable at Cole's. It actually was Cole's! So you're spot on My favorite place on the Elmwood strip, way, way back in the day. Goodbar and No Names were popular hangouts too.

I spent 6 years in Buffalo and still go back somewhat regularly w/ many friends there. Goodbar is still kicking too. No Names probably has a New Name now as I'm unfamiliar w/ it. If you remember the Old Pink down on Allen (diviest of dive bars w/ an incredible steak sandwich) - it was just burned to the ground. Some guy got in a fight w/ a bouncer, got booted, and left muttering that he was going to burn the place down and actually came back and burned the place down. It was a place "no one planned on going but everyone ended up anyway".

I think No Names was on the corner of Elmwood and Bidwell Parkway ... maybe that was Goodbar, ICR. JP Bullfeathers was another good place, so was Brunner's, they had 50-cent Molson Golden night back in the day (I was never a fan of Labatt Blue).
I did see that the Pink burned down. It reminded me of the Kingston, a dive bar in Portland near PGE Park.
Jack McGinty's on Swan by the baseball stadium was also a great place for a few pops before a Bisons game. The bartender had the worst South Buffalo Irish accent, "Paaaaaat!"
