JULIAN SABOURIN RHP 6-3, 186 R/L ANCASTER, ONT. - BISHOP TONNES HS
The Beavers reach deep into Canada to recruit Ontario Province's top pitching prospect and Team Canada's opening game starter at the Future Games Showcase in Lake Point, Georgia. Julian Sabourin is considered by many to be the top pitching prospect in Canada in the 2026 class and is the 46th best prospect in the 2026 MLB Draft according to Baseball America. He has also received a coveted 9.5 scouting grade from Rawlings-Perfect Game
Sabourin attends the prestigious Bishop Tonnes HS in Ancaster Township, a village of 40,000 within the city of Hamilton, Ontario (Pop 787,000). He is an excellent student and will be the 8th member of the Beaver's 2026 class.
Sabourin pitches and plays shortstop. Athletic with a long, lean frame that projects well in building for the future. Compact and rhythmic delivery with a medium arm swing. Works downhill from a ¾ slot delivery. Clean motion that is repeatable and can execute pitches in the strike zone. Athletic and fields his position with skill. Ran a 6.91 Sixty at age 14.
Pitching Metrics are impressive for a 16 year old. Can dial up the fastball on demand - has recorded 93.7 mph (2,147 rpm) this summer. Has a 2-plane slider that is tight and breaks late at 80 mph (2,147 rpm) Throws a change at 82 mph (1,684 rpm). Works both corners effectively and the high cheese is a put-away pitch for him. Pitching in the aforementioned Future Games, he worked two scoreless innings and punched out all six Florida hitters he faced while throwing 76% of his pitches for strikes.
Go Beavs !

"Julian Sabourin, the top righthander in Canada and No. 2 player in that country, committed to Oregon State. Sabourin is extremely young for the 2026 class—he just turned 16 a month ago, so he will still be 17 on draft day—but he piles up empty swings at a high clip. The No. 45 player in the 2026 class is 6-foot-2, 180 pounds with a fastball up to 92 mph, an advanced slider and feel for a changeup."
