For those that don't get the athletic department emails here is what they just sent out a bit ago:
Dear Beaver Nation:
President Murthy and I are proud to share that the Pac-12 has secured commitments from Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and San Diego State to join our conference. These are universities that share our values, and their addition marks the beginning of a new era for a conference with a 100-year tradition.
A year ago, we pledged to do everything in our control to fight for the best path forward for Oregon State. We explored countless options, mindful of preserving our history while forging our future. Beavers are builders, and today we usher in a new era.
There have been significant moments of change in collegiate athletics, and there will undoubtedly be more, but the prioritization of our student-athletes will always remain our guiding light. Their ability to compete at a high level and our emphasis on their holistic well-being were top of mind in every conversation.
This is a new beginning and an opportunity to chart our own destiny while forging ahead together. We have chosen to build and will do so with a boldness that signifies a new era. Our grit, fight and work ethic will always be at the core of what we do. As Oregon State alums, donors and fans know, it goes beyond that – we are champions, scholars and innovators. The days of being humble are in the past. We will move forward with an authentic pride, mindful of our core principles, but more tenacious and bolder in our approach.
The unwavering support of Beaver Nation is seen, felt and heard by our student-athletes, coaches and staff. I am excited to usher in this new era together and look forward to a roaring Reser Stadium on Saturday!
