I don't remember him. I recall Dutch Savage, Jimmy Snuka, the Von Steiger brothers, Kurt and Karl. Tough Tony Borne and Lonnie Mayne. Shag Thomas. My idol was the Crusher, Stan Stasiak. Oh yeah, Playboy Buddy Rose. That was some good TV. When I was like 8, I got a 6 year old neighbor kid in a full nelson and spun him around. That didn't go over so well...

I lived in SE Portland for about four months in early 1988 and worked out at Loprinzi's Gym. Buddy Rose was there during the day along with some other wrestlers. I saw some guy I did not recognize (in a Nebraska Football sweatshirt) doing a set of five on the bench at 495. I think if I wanted some PED's I could have found them there.

I remember Gentlemen Ed Francis and his son, future NFL’er Russ Francis wrestling on KPTV. I think that was for a very short period after Russ dropped out of UO and before he was able to enter the NFL. |

His signature finishing move was “the thumb” which he would deliver to his unlucky opponent’s throat, to ostensibly debilitating effect. Aaah, sweet childhood memories…. |
