24-21 mid 3rd.
Although he did go for a fake punt on 4th and 19 from his own endzone. Most unsuccessful.

Boise had 5 turnovers (including 2 pick-sixes) and BYU still lost. That fake punt was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. Have your punter run it out of the endzone needing 19 yards?!

A few more decisions like that and Sitake will be looking for a new job. They seem to have some talent, but he is clearly learning on the fly about being a head coach. Odd to try a game winning FG with 15 seconds still on the clock too, BYU should have won that game.

The fg attempt with 15 sec left was a head scratcher too. That's an eternity for a good program. At 44 yds it was no gimme, and got blocked bad. Oddly, they retained possession and had time for a Hail Mary, which failed.

The football gods(had to get that in) were trying SO HARD to get BYU the win. The announcers went over and over the failed punt and how at the end of the sequence BYU had better field position. I guess the lesson is that the ball isn't round for a reason, and anything can happen in sports.

So that if something goes wrong you still have an opportunity to get it right?

You just have to be sure the pass is incomplete or the runner gets out of bounds. A pass to the sidelines is the way to go. Missing the pass would result in it being 3rd down, and they would STILL have the same opportunity they did after the blocked kick, since it would be 3rd down.

Plus plus, Byuhasnt had a kicker make one past 43 yd all season. Bad decision in my book. Winnable game for sure.
