Nothing I saw tonight has changed my opinion that we upgraded our head-coaching position. Bray doesn't have Smith's experience, but with time IMHO he'll be a better head coach, with more player buy-in. Other's mileage may vary, of course. Saw more of the same brain-dead decisions he made at OSU. Not taking the chip-shot FG to go up by two scores in the 4th quarter. Horribly mismanaged final possession, passing twice and enabling FAU to preserve two TOs. Personal fouls, more than 100 yards in penalties. Totally unimpressed. Pretty bold comparison for a guy who has yet to coach one football game. Hope you’re right. I’ll wait a season or so. I agree that this assessment may be premature......bad decisions aside, our program was pretty dam healthy before milk maid decided to bail.........on the other hand, I do feel good about Bray leading our program. I do feel like he actually wants to be in Corvallis, unlike milk maid

Well... a HC at this level generally gets too much credit and too much blame. They make about 5% (broad generalization depending on a individual staff) of game decisions. However, the buck stops with them.
They are managers responsible for hiring staff that mesh with their beliefs. They do very little daily coaching. They do very little in group meetings.
Smith took over a program in a mess... understatement. Bray not so much in comparison. Smith hired a good staff and made changes when needed. It'll be season 3 before you can fully grade Bray's managerial successes.

How was that not targeting? The defender launched himself at the runner, and blasted his helmet off with his forearm......is that not clearly head/neck? What am I missing? Apparently you can forearm shiver to the runners head with reckless abandon when they are giving themselves up. If that is true, the rules need to be changed big time. Brings back memories of watching clips of Dick “Night Train” Lane clothes lining everybody or Billy "The Gun" Van Goff

It went off the rails quickly.

Whether that opinion is correct will be determined.
