Flipped it on thinking it was a preseason game. Still 1st Qtr. don’t think I ever saw it because I was at my best friend’s older sister’s high school graduation. I remember they announced the final score during and the place went nuts. My 13th birthday. Good times.

I was 13 and listened to the end of the game on my transistor radio at my sister's high school graduation. Probably three or four thousand people were there and it was a huge roar at the end.

After those first two losses in Philly our entire family went to PDX to give the Blazers encouragement when they arrived home on their flight. I figure there was around 2000 of us fans at the airport. My niece (14 yo at the time) approached Maurice Lucas and gave him a single red rose. I don't think his wife appreciated that however.

I do remember their reg season record 49-33 then going something like 50-10 the next season before Walton went down. Oh, and the capacity of Memorial Coliseum: 12,666. that number was in the box score for years.
