News from the Cape.
Righthander Kellan Oakes (Oregon State/2025) struck out 15 batters in 11.2/3 innings this summer using a fastball at 90-92 mph and a slider from 80-83. Oakes made 8 appearances from the Whitecaps bullpen. Facing some of college baseball's top returning 2025 hitters, Oakes gathered some valuable pitching experience over the summer.
