Over the last 3 years and with 2025 yet to come for a talented group of players, Puyallup, Washington HS has forged a 73-15 record and a remarkable 51-7 record in the arguably best prep league, South Puget Sound League. Included in this group of talented players are three Oregon State recruits, catcher Kai Halstead (class of '24) , SS-P Mason Pike (’25) and IF/OF Gage Thompson (’25).
The Vikings are stirring in the early pre-season prep polls for 2025 with a lofty number 16 and number 18 ranking in the National Top-25 polling.
In 2024, the nationally ranked South Puget Sound League champion Puyallup Vikings (25-6) finished one run away from the WIAA Class 4A state championship, losing a 4-3 state final to the Mid-Columbia League Champion, Richland Bombers (27-0). 2024 was the second heartbreaking one run title game loss for the Vikings in 3 years - in 2022, SPSL Champion Puyallup (23-3) was upset in the WIAA Class 4A title game by SPSL runner-up, Olympia HS, 7-6.
In 2025 Puyallup returns the second best player in the state (OSU's Xavier Neyens is ranked #1) in nationally ranked and Junior All-American P-SS Mason Pike. Two of the top ranked sophomores in the nation are back with SS Brayden Landry (Uncommitted) and 2B-SS Maxwell Hemenway (Tennessee) along with OF Gage Thompson. The Puyallup program will also welcome in highly-touted freshman catcher. Madden Pike, Mason’s younger brother.
