www.statesmanjournal.com/story/sports/2016/10/18/russell-trying-make-grade-oregon-state/92363104/Good article on what seems like a good kid with promise - and seems like he is being dealt with very transparently. And, as the saying goes, you can't coach 6'11". Disclaimer: I had to answer a couple inane questions to read this article, hope that happens to you too! :-). "At 6-foot-11, 235 pounds, South Salem High graduate Christian Russell has the size to play Division I college basketball. But unlike in high school, Russell discovered in a hurry that as a freshman walk-on at Oregon State he could no longer impact a game because of his height alone. Senior center Cheikh N’diaye is an inch taller than Russell, and several teammates are heavier, including N’Diaye (240 pounds), sophomore forward Drew Eubanks (6-10, 250) and sophomore center Gligorije Rakocevic (6-11, 255). Heck, even third-year coach Wayne Tinkle, a former college and professional basketball player, looks Russell eye to eye." Go Beavs!

"Walk-on offers from Western Oregon and Portland State"?
That tempers my enthusiasm somewhat, but you can always use another big body in practice.

Hmmm... 6'11" and averaged less that 6 rebounds a game in High School??? Must move like Liam Hughes (7-3, 300-pound guy from England that could barely make it up and down the court in case you have purged the Jay John era from your memory)
