It starts next Thursday, July 11, and I imagine the whole family is going over to support him. I also imagine that Glove will move this to the rotating tap, but I thought I'd post it here initially to get the attention of the women's hoops fans.

That's a bit harsh, isn't it? He's a fine young man who wanted to spread his wings when he graduated from high school, so he went to Boise State. Not like he opted for a traitor school. And his father's a pretty damn good Beav. You disown your kids if they don't go to OSU?

Huh. I didn’t realize there was a Scottish open. Is that before or after the Welsh open?

I think the olde Shire was near Scotland, as this is where Bandobras Took, also known as Bullroarer Took, took off the head of the goblin king with a wood club, causing it to fly through the air for 100 yards and fall down a rabbit hole; it is said that this is how the game of golf was invented.
At least, this is what my olde friend J.R.R told me.

And he went where the coaches wanted him. Not recruited by OSU for whatever reason.

$9m purse, part of the DP and PGA Tour. The field looks stacked.
Not a major championship, but is a good links-style lead up to the (British) Open Championship the next week.
Seems like a big deal to me.

Seems like a big deal to me. Absolutely, it is. It's normally held the week prior to the Open Championship, so many who play the PGA Tour (including Europeans like Rory McIlroy) show up. Gets them a head start on getting over jet lag, and some time playing links golf. The result is a field that gets better every year. Should be a great experience for Cole.

What are your top 5 favorite Scottish Open moments, outside of Cole Rueck’s qualification?

Some big dogs in the field - Rory, Xander, Morikawa, Hovland, Fleetwood, Aberg, Matsuyama, Justin Thomas, Wyndham Clark. That will be a cool experience. FYI Reuck odds = +500000 on Draft Kings.
