Two All-Star starters. Pretty sure that's not happened, but will again.

and tonight should become the MLB batting leader... Is that right? Does he need four appearances or five to qualify? Kwan has four with only two innings left.

But, after a day of drinking (gotta love early Happy Hours running into the later Happy Hours! ) waiting for tonight's game... does the batting "leader" matter at this point in the season? Alcohol says "No". BTW... Adley needs to pick it up tonight. Hitting about .165 vs Seattle.

To the casual MLB fan, Judge looks like a triple-crown candidate. That fantasy ends tonight or tomorrow.

Oregon State has never had more than one. One in 1944 (Johnson), 1976 (Forsch), 1981 (Forsch), 2011 (Ellsbury), 2017 (Conforto) and 2023 (Rutschman).
2024 is the first time that Oregon State has had more than one player in a Major League All-Star Game ever.
Rutschman also becomes the first former Oregon State player to play in more than one All-Star Game in more than 40 years and the first non-pitcher to ever turn the trick.
2023 and 2024 also marks the first time that former Oregon State players have played in consecutive All-Star Games.

Yeah...that's why I said should and not will..and too lazy to do the math Kwan only got four, but he apparently only needed four. MLB Batting Leaders: 1. Steven Kwan .360 2. Shohei Ohtani .320 3. Luis Rengifo .319 4. Aaron Judge .318

Luis Rengifo .319 4. Aaron Judge .318It really didn't matter that he had enough ABs to meet the qualification. Even by MLB rules they still would have given him the crown by adding those hitless PAs. BBref always lists the leaders in offensive categories even if they have to add PAs. If you look at the linked page, and expand the leaderboards, you'll see several players in the BA, OBP, SLG, and OPS categories with ** next to their names, which just means they've added enough 0fers to get the player up to the minimum qualifying PAs. www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/AL/2024-batting-leaders.shtml

But I think that it is great that Kwan is atop the Majors in batting as of this moment.

They do it any time a player doesn't have enough PAs to officially qualify, but would be among the leaders if they had the PAs to do so. What would compel anyone to NOT??? Doesn't matter, because Kwan appears to have 3.11 PAs per team game as of yesterday.
