Baseball America announced their latest First Round Mock Draft today, 15 days prior to the MLB Draft on July 16-18. The Mock Draft differs from their Draft Player Rankings. The rankings are based on skill and performance alone, the Mock Draft takes into consideration "player fit" with an organization, position need and "signability". This is how BA views the 39 picks of the first round:
1. Guardians - JJ Wetherhold 2B West Virginia U. 2. Reds - Charlie Condon OF U. Georgia 3. Rockies - Chase Burns P Wake Forest U. 4. Athletics - Travis Bazzana 2B Oregon State U. 5. White Sox - Jac Caniglianone OF U. Florida 6. ,Royals - Bryce Rainer 3B Harvard-Westlake HS, CA. OF 7. Cardinals - Hagen Smith P U. Arkansas 8. Angels - Christian Moore 2B U. Tennessee 9. Pirates - Braden Montgomery OF Texas A&M U. 0. Nationals - Konnor Griffen OF Jacson Prep HS , MS.
* The Beavers had no other first round projections. ** Bazzana is still the 2nd ranked player in nthe draft with BA.

Sounds like Guardians looking to undersign someone and Wetherhold is great player but probably willing to do that

Plus, Wetherholt is from Mars!....................Pennsylvania, which is a suburb of Pittsburgh. Probably much more signable than Bazzana. I don't get Condon being that high, though. He is a redshirt sophomore and will be tougher to sign than Bazzana, Burns, and Wetherholt. Unless the Reds just really want to blow a ton of money on him. But that just does not sound very Redslike to me.
