Greetings All,
New to Benny's House and figured I would say hi and introduce myself. I'm a bit of an unconventional fan; the "steel" in my username refers to my Pittsburgh upbringing (dunno if the first part of the name needs any explanation but I'm very Scottish - kilt, bagpipes, haggis and all). I became a Beavs fan cause young ScottishSteel's favourite color was orange, thought beavers were dope, and that Oregon was a mythic wooded wonderland and the end of the Oregon Trail computer game. The 99 and 2000 bowl games caught my attention but I went all in in 2002 when they faced my dad's Pitt Panthers in the Insight Bowl - it was a young kid's bandwagon but I never left.
I spent my winters on the wrestling mat (still have a wrestling mat in my shed and roll around in my veteran years) and summers at the ballpark so you'll see me frequent The Mat Club the most as Oregon St wrestling is my favourite of all the institution's teams with occasional appearances in Casey's Corner and the football board if I feel I have something worthwhile to say. I live in the outskirts of Happy Valley so watching the Pac12 Network was always a bit of a challenge but I was able to use my Penn St connections to finally make the trek to Corvallis to see the match in Gill this past January and it did not disappoint.
Can't wait to make some anonymous internet friends
Go Beavs

Welcome!
It's a pretty small crew of us die-hard wrestling fans in here, so the more the merrier!
FYI Scottish Steel would also work as an 80's hair-metal cover band or a to-be-invented cocktail with whiskey, so it's multi-dimensional if you ask me. I like it.

I've found wrestling is a niche sport but it's a deep niche; I'm fortunate to live in a state where it's more mainstream but I'll consume as much content (or to-be-invented cocktail) as I can. . . I was born in 89 so the hair metal is a little before my time haha

Welcome Scott.
From Lehigh Valley to Happy Valley? I can relate to your intro. I remember my trip to Pittsburgh to see NCAA’s in 2019. In fact that was my last travel until Kansas City a few months ago in March. We took an extra day to see NFL HOF on that trip. You picked the right Pitt-OSU game to go to. The next one was the 3-0 Sun Bowl thriller 😊
It will be an interesting wrestling season coming up. Get everyone healthy, I think Beavs can field a solid team. Have heard Iowa Hawkeyes are coming to town early November. Hoping for the best for the 2 younger world team members also, Attao and Rademacher.
Brawler out
