I still consider Jarod a former beav. He had a lot of big moments here and still has a lot of love for OSU. He still posts about his time at OSU and included a picture of him in an OSU uniform when he announced he signed with the Mavs for the Summer. WW is harder, only here one year and not much to remember him by from his time here as he didn't stay long enough to make an impact and develop.

ESPN makes a big deal about the NBA Summer League but it the equivalent of double-A baseball. Very, very few NBA Summer League players ever play a minute in the NBA.

ESPN makes a big deal about the NBA Summer League but it the equivalent of double-A baseball. Very, very few NBA Summer League players ever play a minute in the NBA. While I agree with the overall sentiment of your post — ESPN overhypes Summer League and other than that year’s draft picks we’re talking G League quality games — unless you have a very loose interpretation of “very, very few,” it isn’t correct. Looked at Bulls roster for their upcoming games and 7 of the 13 on it have already seen at least a little action in NBA and their first rounder this year will undoubtedly make it 8 of 13 at some point. I’ll tune in a bit if it happens to be on when I flip on TV — fun to see guys you followed in college again. But, yes, no reason to get too excited about anyone’s play as few players in Summer League each year have any real impact in NBA. |
