The last time that Oregon State lost the final two games of the postseason, the second game by a single run was in 2005. Oregon State won the next two National Championships.
It is weird for me to think that the 2024 season ended with the two-hitter up in front of a hostile crowd down 3-2 with the tying run at third.
The 2018 season almost famously ended in the ninth with the two-hitter up in front of a hostile crowd down 3-2 with the tying run at third.
Grenier fouled off strike three, though, and then hit the next pitch into left to knot it up at three. And McDowell watched strike three sail past.
I will continue to say that Macias Guerra's "strike three" with the bases juiced in the fourth was really ball four. It should have been 3-2 Oregon State, Bazzana up with the bases juiced and not 2-2. Still a terrible call.

Random thoughts.....
Watching the super I felt like Kentucky was built more like a Pat Casey squad than ours.
Woulda been nice to make Omaha for the pub, recruiting, etc.......but I think we woulda got smoked. I'll admit I'm slightly selfish in that I was a bit relieved that I did not have to spend the money to go to Omaha.
I'm concerned how Mitch keeps this train rollin.....the Pac doesn't go away, the momentum is there. Now, going indie.....lots of questions. How will it affect recruiting? So far pretty quiet with the portal.

It's possible if not probable, that the Beavs will be reatively quiet in terms of Portal activity this session. Although the roster is fluid right now with a week remaining for Portal activity and the upcoming MLB Draft. We might see as many as 27 players returning with as many as 18 new faces coming this fall. If the NCAA sets the roster limit at 32, and we are in the 40-45 fall roster range, we aren't likely looking at the Portal for much beyond a "too good to pass up" player.

The incoming class is good, I would think being quiet in the portal generally speaking would be a good thing unless like you said there's a "too good to pass up" player similar to May/Hainline or better out there.
