Hustyn Wheeler is 6'-185, L/L center fielder from Sandra Day O'Connor HS in Phoenix, AZ. This spring he helped his 24-9 SDO team reach the final in the Arizona 6A championship game. They lost the final to Queen Creek, 7-6 in 10 innings. Hustyn is fast (6.66 sixty in 2023), is a ball hawk in the outfield with range and and an accurate arm (88 mph OF-velo) throwing to the bases. A contact hitter that peppers the gaps with barreled up line drives. Hustyn is a member of the 2024 OSU class and will be here for fall ball.

2024: The Eagles compete in the 6A Desert Valley Section and were 24-9 in 2024. Wheeler made 130 plate appearances, and had a slash line of .301/ .408/ .368. Had 31 hits and scored 24 runs in 103 at bats. Had 5 doubles, 1 triple and 12 RBI, He walked 18 times, was HBP twice, reached base on error 3 times and struck out 17 times. He was 10/15 in stolen base attempts. Following his outstanding Junior season, he saw more shifts and fewer good pitches in 2023.
2023: SDO finished 21-11 and lost the state 6A final to Chandler-Hamilton HS. Hustyn produced a .426/ .516/ .584 slash line. Made 127 pate appearances, had 43 hits and scored 31 runs in 101 at bats. Had 18 RBI with 10 doubles and 3 triples. Drew 18 walks, was hit twice and struck out 18 times. Had 1 ROE and was 8/12 in stolen base attempts. Had 1 ROE.
2022: The Eagles finished 22-10 and lost the 6A state final to Gilbert-Perry HS. Hustyn's slash line was .261/ .376/ .304. He made 88 plate appearances, had 18 hits and scored 17 runs in 69 at bats. He hit 3 doubles and had 12 RBI. He walked 13 times, was hit once while striking out 19 times. Had 1 ROE and was 5/5 on SBA.
Hustyn Wheeler has played with the Scottsdale Dirtbags - Black Team in summer and fall travel ball. He has made 11 All Tournament teams in his 5 years with the Dirtbags. He is an All Region selecton and holds a 9.5 scouting grade from Rawlings Perfect Game, and is an All Arizona Team honoree with Prep Baseball Report. He has received All Arizona honors with SDO.
